About

Self-portrait, taken with

Hi,

I’m AnotherCatLady.
What you see here is my private website to showcase my photography, artwork and the like.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in art and photography. It’s a way to express myself, relax, a balance to my job, a kind of therapy.

Since 2007 I’ve been posting my photos to the internet, started photo blogs and gave them up eventually. Unfortunally photo blogs aren’t really “a thing” anymore and I decided, that my photos need a home so I chose to create this website, to have a place to post them to.

Both digital and analog photography have a place in my heart.
I’m fascinated by the technical possibilities digital photography offers to take the most “perfect” photos possible.
With analog photography I especially love LoFi photos, taken with toy cameras (Lomos) and experimenting with expired or destroyed film to celebrate the beauty of randomness and imperfections.

And why the name AnotherCatLady you may ask? Well… I love cats. As simple as that.

A word on the categories

Most categories are regular digital photography with a DSLR camera.

The category LoFi is all about analog photography, mostly with plastic cameras (toy cameras) with plastic lenses on expired or purposely destroyed film. So it is fully intentionally that photos may be out of focus, scratched, having weird colors etc. (please google LoFi analog photography or Lomography if you want to learn more).

The category Throwback focuses on the photos I took many, many years ago. Back then I took photos with all kinds on (cheap) digital cameras, sometimes even with a camcorder that was not even designed to take photos with. So those photos can be of much worse quality than other, more recent, photos you find on this website. It’s not intentional, that they sometimes have a smaller resolution, which makes them appear a little pixelated or blurry sometimes, but there is nothing I can do about this as back then, the technology wasn’t as advanced as it is today and as a teenager, I for sure did not have the access to good equipment.

And as a general thing: No, the photos you see here, are mostly not taken on the day I post it.
